Health Coach | Speaker | Writer | Welcome to my digital diary! I'm here to help you blend life & fitness to find your health & happy! Thank you for being part of my family & allowing me to add value to your journey!
Gut check moment: I realized I felt incapable of discovering who I was or what I wanted on my own.
This was why I couldn’t find the right diet, career path, or relationship. One of those “Fxck, it WAS me all along” moments.
Now, hear me out, I see no problem in seeking guidance when searching for your life path. And I know part of finding your path includes finding your identity & making mistakes. In fact, it’s essential to know who you are to discover your purpose in this world.
What I did & what I take issue with is when people feel incapable of discovering who they are or what they want on their own, placing their value in people pleasing, diet & exercise “camps,” what they look like, achievements, titles, &/or how much money they have in their bank accounts.
Ya feel me?
On the evening he died, Buddha delivered his final, but one of his most powerful teachings for generations to come.
As recounted by many historians, he gathered with his monks encouraging them to continue practicing everything he taught them long after he was gone.
His words, translated into modern English: “I was only able to point the way for you.” He furthered: “All individual things pass away. Strive on with diligence.” He also told them: “Be a lamp unto yourself, be a refuge to yourself. Take yourself to no external refuge.”
Essentially, he was telling them that he himself & his teachings were not the source of happiness, well-being, peace, & wisdom. Instead, he reminded them that to become FULLY FREE, they needed to find their truth FOR themselves & WITHIN themselves.
I feel Buddha was urging us to see this truth: although you may search the world over trying to find it, your ultimate refuge is none other than your own being.
In other words – You do you, Boo.
Hope this meets you where ever you need…the hard af truth why you struggle in life, with food & fitness + a few rules will make you stronger than you’ve ever been.
@lil_bit_of_fit ‘s Live Your Best Life List If you’re ready to begin again, start here!
Sharing my list!
GRATITUDE & MINDSET: Name off at least 3 things you’re grateful & do at least one thing that brings you joy. Smile more. Compliment more. Do at least one nice thing for someone every day. Make a vision board or list on Pinterest & fill it with visions, quotes, pictures, & expanders of the life, love, body, & person you desire to embody. Believe you are worthy & deserving. Listen to positive podcasts, read books, surround yourself with extraordinary people & nurturing environment.
HEALTH: Get a walk or some kind of movement done 1st thing in the morning. Be intentional about getting 10K steps/d. Choose nourishing food that does not cause any negative physical or mental triggers. Eat slow & mindfully. Hit your protein grams/d. At least 30-50g/meal. Average 2-3 meals/d, no snacking. Let your carbs & fat grams fall where they will. Eat at your maintenance calories the majority of the year. Hydrate. Walk after meals, even 10 minutes. Eat your largest meal & carbs (if you eat them) after your workout & taper meal sizes off later in the day. Moderate caffeine & alcohol. Strength train 3-4 x/week. Use HIIT cardio wisely.
SELF: Do sh*t you love everyday, fill your cup. Sleep 7-8 hrs/night. Take rest days. Sweat, get sunshine & nature as much as you can. Live by the 4 agreements: Be Impeccable With Your Word, Don’t Take Anything Personally, Don’t Make Assumptions, Always Do Your Best.
WEALTH: LOVE what you do. Spend & invest wisely. Find out what you love to do & get paid well for it. Realize you work to live not live to work. Money is good, it’s energy & freedom. Give back. Wealth means more than just money in the bank. Make decisions from a source of love not greed or loathing. You deserve a life of abundance!
RELATIONSHIPS: Connect with your people. Make memories! Tell people you love them. Communicate efficiently & often. Seek first to understand before judging. Your network is your net worth. Every opportunity is a networking opportunity, carpe diem, savor the present.
That’s it. There’s mine. Make your own! Remember motivation is fleeting, but you have the choice to be a person who keeps commitments to themselves!
Cringe: can’t you just give me a meal plan & tell me what to do?
I can but is that truly gonna change what you’re telling yourself?
Take fans of opposite teams, you’re going to get 2 different stories during a game depending on their perspective, right?!
Huge correlation between happiness & health. Happier people naturally make better food/lifestyle choices. Happier people also tell themselves a different story.
So how do we find your happy?
That’s what I’m here to help you discover. It’s not just about macros, workouts, & diets. There’s more to nutrition & helping someone gain their health back than prescribing a meal plan.
The one ability the most successful people & clients possess is the ability to forgive themselves, learn, & pivot.
I feel the root of most people’s unhappiness comes from unmet perceived expectations of society.
Social media for example: wonderful connection & education tool but can also be a dagger in someone’s heart & perception of themselves.
We confuse success & happiness. Really they’re 2 different things. The richest people in the world can be the most miserable.
The poorest can be the most content & happy. It’s all about your thoughts, perception, & the reality you create for yourself.
Happiness is knowing how to navigate through challenging times. That’s what we’re here for, to teach you
Flipping the script as I say.
I talked about gratitude showers a couple days ago, I don’t care what you have to do to get yourself in a more positive mindset, fucking do it.
I personally go on an abundance rampage.
Its where I tell myself out loud how beautiful I am, how abundant my life is, how grateful I am for every single thing no matter how minuscule. Instantly I’m in a better mood.
Get rid of the what if‘s & I should‘s. Quit shoulding on yourself. Get to a place of forgiveness & acceptance. That’s contentment.
Just like in business, done is better than perfect. What you think you want, or what you think will happen may not be the thing that you need right now. You still need to take action, however, to move the needle forward.
The Universe is in control & it gives you what you need. It also gives you what you attract, so the energy you put out is very important.
Who and what do you want to attract?
You always end up where you’re supposed to be & it always turns out better than what you thought in the end.
No one can take away what you put in your mind. Create your own reality. The greatest prison is the one you create in your own mind.
To me, I’m living in a castle. I have the healthiest happiest body ever. I am the most beautiful girl in the world. I am surrounded by the most magnificent people. My life is joyous and fulfilling. I’m rich in so many ways more than just monetary in nature.
That’s the story I tell myself. Am I all of these things? Who knows. Does it matter? Fuck no.
All that matters is what I think.
If you see your life as a list of achievements, titles, & what you look like — you’re missing the meaning of life.
You’re not being present & you’re not enjoying the journey of the story writing & connecting with others.
You don’t live, goals, you live the journey.
Katie Kelly, @lil_bit_of_fit
Stop being a victim in your story. Be the hero.
Exercise:
I want you to write down 3 things that if you did them each week would bring you a deep sense of happiness.
It could be working out. It could be spending time with loved ones. It could be creating things. It could be teaching your kids something or taking care of the household. It could be spending time outside in nature, in the sunshine. Reading a book by the pool. It could be writing Blogs. It can be anything.
That’s where you start and you build from there. One brick at a time.
Stress really is a killer. It affects your physical, mental, emotional, & spiritual health.
“How do I lose the belly fat?” – a question I receive almost every day.
Often times this comes down to you doing WAY too much. More is not always better.
Stress & belly fat are absolutely connected, we cannot address one without the other. I never realized the stress I was putting on my body with poor habits & a negative mindset.
They affected both my aesthetic & health goals.
Tips: 1. Manage your Emotions Thoughts become things. Our brains don’t know the difference of whether an event actually happened or if we only imagined it. The physiological reaction is exactly the same.
If you don’t learn how to navigate, mitigate, & work on your emotional fitness – you’re fighting a losing battle regardless of whether you have the perfect diet or not.
2. Calories & food matter. Eat in a MILD calorie deficit while maximizing nutrients. Cut the fake diet food. EAT YOUR MEAT. The better quality the food, the easier it is to stay satiated & nourished with minimal digestive distress. You’ll also have less sweet cravings, more stable energy, & mental clarity sticking with meat & healthy fats vs carb centric meals.
3. Walk! It lowers cortisol, helps manage stress, burns calories, reduces hunger & cravings, aids in digestion & mental clarity/happiness.
4. Sleep! Even if exercise & diet are perfect, without quality sleep, it is extremely difficult to function at your best & lose body fat. Sufficient sleep means less hunger, cravings, balanced hormones, & a better mood. Not to mention you’re more likely NOT to eat like an a*hole when you’re rested.
5. Lift weights! Y’all you have to build the body first. Under eating paired with chronic stress & excess cardio will lead you to what we call skinny fat.
When it comes to losing fat, “emotional fitness” will always be your 1st priory, followed by sleep, movement, & eating in a way that HELPS not hinder fat loss.

For me, I have a solid success routine foundation already in check. They are the big rocks like sleep, hydration, eating foods that suit you, being an active individual of life, at least 10K steps a day at least. You should have one too!
When you’re wanting to progress the needle forward or pursue different body goals, experimenting & switching things up will provide valuable information to base adjustments.
I truly believe I maintain a leaner physique utilizing a few simple techniques. They provide mild metabolic stressors that have helped boost my fat loss. A reminder these won’t do anything if you do not have the basics nailed down, FIRST.
⁃ Fasted workouts ⁃ Intermittent fasting ⁃ Infrared sauna: got mine off amazon ⁃ Red light therapy & getting in the sun: I use an EMR Tek light, here Discount Code: lilbitoffit20 ⁃ Cryo or cold baths ⁃ Fat Cycling ⁃ Protein Cycling ⁃ Sleep as much as possible (this is not a new concept)
You don’t have to do all of these at the same time, experiment and see how switching one or two of these things up affects your fat loss goals.
These are strategies we craft together in your success protocol as clients.
The things that helped me lean out the most were intermittent fasting, fasted workouts, throwing OMAD in there every once in a while, quality SLEEP, & fat cycling.
Everyone is different!
We can get you set up with your success protocol, too.

Just like getting up early ☀️⏰ Just like writing for myself & y’all ✍🏼👩🏼💻 Just like expanding my mind, via podcasts, books, YouTube 🧠 Just like doin chores 🐈⬛🧹👚🧼 Just like eating well, all the meats🥩 Just like getting workouts in🏋🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️ Just like spending time with friends & family 👨👩👧👦 Just like taking time for ME 💝
Still woke up at 6 AM despite getting home at 1 from the @MorganWallen concert #earlybirdproblems
I take pictures, snap stories, & write to connect emotions & memories of my everyday’s — to remember, reflect, learn, & connect. My IG is my digital journal. Stories. Stories are important. They create your identity.
I’ve read ‘Atomic Habits’ twice, a section talks about stories.
What stories are you telling yourself? Who do you want to embody? What systems do you have in place to help you achieve goals? 3 areas of life affected by the stories we tell ourselves ⏬
- Money stories ⁃ Relationship stories ⁃ Food & Body stories I fxcked up over the years, too.🤷♀️ Like my IG bio says, “𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘬𝘦 𝘣*𝘵𝘤𝘩” 😆
In some form I told myself I wasn’t worthy in all 3 of these areas, setting blocks instead of boundaries — there’s a difference. Example, with Relationships: if I was asked to do something & really liked a person, I’d lose myself & completely change my plans to suit them. Or shxt like settling for a booty call🫣
I know, I know…shxt happens, y’all. Dust yourself off.
Learn your lesson.
(Steps off soapbox 📦😂)
This was me not valuing my worth. A block. Now, instead of denying myself of my plans/needs I simply say, “Let me get my workout in (insert whatever task or commitment I had) & I will connect with you & confirm plans because I would like to spend time with you.” This is setting a boundary not a block. Example, Food & Body: instead of saying, “I’m not a morning person, I don’t have time to meal prep.” Set a system & a worth affirmation. “I don’t like to get up early but I will commit to 3 mornings this week & meal prep lunches because I want to be healthy.”
Now repeat & build from here. These are all pivotal changes we work on via coaching. They will get you to your goals, I promise.
✍🏼 📖 Journal exercise for the day: write down the identity you want to embody around money, relationships, food & body. Mine👇🏻 💰MONEY: I am safe, able, successful, abundant, & provided for.
🥰RELATIONSHIP: I am special, loved, seen, heard, safe, understood, & chosen. I allow mental real estate for the people in my life giving me the same respect.
🥩FOOD & BODY: I am healthy, safe, strong, & beautiful in every season. Inner calm, outer order😉

“I forgot to eat.” Something you will never hear this girl say now. Years ago, I wore my ability to restrict food like a badge. Result: constantly being cold, loss of appetite, & zero energy. There were days I had to pull over to catch a quick nap because I couldn’t keep my eyes open. Workouts I thought I was gonna pass out. Blood pressure super low, like 80/58 low. I remember the doctor saying do you feel lightheaded a lot? I had a DM from a woman this week & she made the statement she was never hungry & didn’t understand how eating more macros would help. So I put it this way…
Dying animals have no appetite & don’t eat. Thriving animals fight for their food. Which one do you wanna be?
Katie Kelly/ Coach K / @lil_bit_of_fit 🙂
A decrease in hunger after living in a calorie deficit for too long is our body shutting down to survive. This is why females eating below their BMR or at a low body fat don’t have a period. Your body is preserving energy to live. This is commonly why you’re constipated. Digestion slows. This is why you’re cold, no energy. Your hormones & systems down regulate to compensate.
Low quality food, deficiencies Should you eat if you’re not hungry? Or when you’re not feeling hungry but know your body needs food, what should you do? Always eat when there is physiological/internal cue – in other words, when you either feel that hunger pang or become aware that your body is in need of nourishment. 2 guiding factors of what to eat & how much: 1. Inner Wisdom — how the body lets us know that we need food, or have had enough to eat. Growling stomach. 2. Outer Wisdom — knowing what your body needs even if it’s not exactly asking for it. Knowing you haven’t eaten in hrs. I hope this helps! Swipe for things I had to do to get a healthier happier leaner physique that may also help you!!
I remember the day I looked in the mirror & realized I’d been living a lie.
I’d been living in a figurative house my lies built.
Btw, I hate sharing my food.
Other things I don’t share are toothbrushes & wieners but those stories probly aren’t IG appropriate & sure to spark conversations that’ll go down the gutter rather quickly😂 Yes, I also need to put that on a T-shirt🤔
My success, I understand now, I owe to cultivating a routine & environment that serves me positively body, mind, & spirit.
I’m still hungry but in a much different way…
I love my life & am extremely grateful. It has fed my soul & stoked my hunger in more ways than one & got me thinkin…
I remember being hungry all the time. Even after a huge meal, I still wanted dessert.
I noticed my friends were able to eat smaller portions & be satisfied. I felt ashamed. I’d binge on massive portions of carbs, usually cookies, candy, brownies, donuts & ice cream.
Ice cream was easier to throw up. I could eat gallons & I’m embarrassed to even tell you how many gallons I’ve eaten at 1 sitting.
As I aged & became more self aware, a sense of amazement/awakening crept over me…
Was this bottomless hunger really all physical hunger? It couldn’t be.
Could I sit down at a meal & push away my plate, full & satisfied, without the urge to overeat?
I could, but only after I figured out that I wasn’t only hungry for food. I was hungry for purpose, enjoyment & satisfaction, & not just in my belly, but in my whole life.
Somewhere as a kid, between farm chores, playing with My Little Ponies & going on my 1st diet, I lost track of the idea that I was allowed to enjoy my body, my food, & just being me.
I had to learn the bigger lesson – that hunger isn’t simply about filling our bellies, but about something deeper: a hunger for purpose, connection, joy, & love.
From my own experience & awakening of learning to feel full, body & heart, I hope you find ways to satisfy your inner hunger.
Sharing my routine which has enabled me to have the body & life of my dreams.
Let this be a conversation starter with yourself. If you need help cultivating a routine, I’d be glad to listen! 🥰
Remember when your mom & dad used to say, “You’ll understand when you get older.”?
Well, I’m almost 40 & just when I think I have everything figured out I realize I still don’t understand a fuggn thing. 😂
The difference — I’ve learned to embrace & fall in love with my journey.
Learn from the lessons of your past.
Self awareness is a super power.
Had a fun podcast with Dan Rosada & @bigfatlifepodcast today! That will drop next Wednesday, I will post all the links! 🤘🏻
We talked about building our foundations 1st.
Most people wanna over complicate things or they just want people to tell them what to do without educating themselves or understanding how their bodies work, their emotional ties & relationship with food, how they respond to food, exercise, stress, etc.
I put it like this, you don’t tell builders to go ahead & put the walls & roof up on a house without building a foundation, right? Because it won’t work will it? Everything will come crumbling down.
I chatted with a friend today about age. How we don’t really understand why people fear getting older.
I don’t know about y’all but my 20’s & early 30’s were a train wreck. As I’ve aged, I started to wake up & realize I had been livin for everybody else but me. I disappointed myself with comparison & expectations instead of falling in love with the process & journey.
I ignored addictions to things like sugar & carbs, excessive alcohol/caffeine, men, negative self talk, seeking to change my body to make myself feel better rather than changing my mindset & relationship with self.
Now is the time to build your foundation & fall in love with YOUR journey! 🌈
